Those things that look so dammed that we cannot imagine that they could be transformed for the better.
Or at least that's how we are thinking of them.
We pass by poor children with bad behaviour that lack education and character, we pass by the homeless that are hooked on alcohol or drugs, or even a CEO that is hooked on ego but thinking of suicide.
We scroll down through the internet to see forests are being cut down, animals tortured for a taste, or entertainment, beings caught up in war, beings caught up in cultural abuse.
We see the planet getting more and more unstable, the weather more and more unpleasant, and the crops more and more harder to grow.
On this planet there are countless calamities in so many aspects.
Most of the beings do not have the capacity to help others because they are struggling themselves.
Most of the beings even think that they can help others only through money.
|I am telling you there is a way to directly help this world.
Without employment of money or strength.
Every mind is powerful, and everything that is projected inside, it will happen, one way or another, according to the karma at play.
The self-fullfilling prophecies, the ironic moments, the desired ones - everything is projected through the mind.
But most beings are not aware of what they are creating, because they are not aware of the thoughts they cling to in each moment.
That is why...
A being can create a great deal of help for beings that apparently he will never get to meet, or be able to support physically. And he can do that just through his mind.
But to do that he must first practice to attain a one-pointed mind.
The trick is to learn to concentrate the mind in the right direction, to use tools to become aware of the thoughts that fly in the mind in each moment and let them go without clinging on them.
It's through unconscious clinging that the mind creates an undesired reality.
Some love to be the victim/martyr in each story just to show that they are good beings, some love to be the bully just to show that they are capable ones. Others love the spotlight because they fear the loneliness. Others prefer to be sick just to draw attention and not feel alone/scared. Some use violent actions just to show that they can be of use.
Countless, countless scenarious.
But with the use of mind concentrating tools beings can become aware of the hell they create for themselves.
The use of these tools feeds the awareness, cleares the mind, and enables the mind to be used in a one-pointed way. And when meditating like that on releaving the suffering of the world, on compassion for all beings, on the growing awareness and clarity of all beings, you do make way for change.
You can help the poor ill-mannered kid, the drunk homeless, the helpless animals in slaughterhouses, all the lost causes just using your mind.
But first you need to learn to use the tools. First you need to learn to use your mind.
Such tools are sanskrit mantras. Like: OM MANI PADME HUM
There is a reason why in most buddhist texts the term "one-pointed mind" is one of the most used expression, and is of great importance.
The mind that is employed in an one-pointed direction, and rests in presence through breath and awareness can achieve anything.
You can become of great use for others and for yourself, by just learning to use your mind.
OM MANI PADME HUM - is the six-syllabled sanskrit mantra particularly associated with the four-armed Shadakshari form of Avalokiteshvara, or Guanyin (in chinese).
The first known description of the mantra appears in the Karandavyuha Sutra.
In this sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha states, "This is the most beneficial mantra. Even I made this aspiration to all the million Buddhas and subsequently received this teaching from Buddha Amitabha."
Each syllable represents a fundamental virtuous energy and purifies a root neurotic state.
Om employs Generosity and purifies Pride / Ego
Ma employs Ethics and purifies Jealousy / Lust for entertainment
Ni employs Patience and purifies Passion / desire
Pad employs Diligence and purifies Ignorance / prejudice
Me employs Renunciation and purifies Greed / possessiveness
Hum employs Wisdom and purifies Aggression / hatred
Each syllable represents a realm of samsara and it's purification, and each syllable also manifests with a different color.
This mantra also clears all the confusion in the mind and plants roots of Quality of Compassion, Equanimity, Body, Speech and Mind quality and activity.
So when a being starts to practice with this tool, eventually the mind experiences the most welcomed relief. At first his mind will purify and become clear before him and thus enable the being to become aware of the reality he manifested. But then the being will experience boundless compassion and limitless will to employ that compassion towards all beings.
That has no end. And that is when the being truly learns how to use his mind.
For the first time the being will understand what kind of power the mind holds.
